
Filippo Ieraci

Filippo Ieraci is a jazz guitarist, composer, and educator with a rich performance background across Europe and the United States. He is currently pursuing an MPhil/PhD in Creative Practice (Jazz) at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where his research explores counterpoint and polyphony in modern guitar, with applications in improvisation and composition.
He has over ten years of teaching experience and has worked with students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to conservatoire-level musicians. His approach is tailored, supportive, and creative, aiming to nurture technical skill while encouraging each student’s individual musical voice.
Filippo holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Jazz Guitar with top honours from the Conservatorio J. Tomadini in Udine, Italy, where he studied with esteemed musicians such as Glauco Venierand many others. He has participated in masterclasses with leading international artists, and has been mentored by some of the most influential contemporary guitarists in Europe.
He has performed widely as both a bandleader and sideman in Italy, France, Spain, The Netherlands, Germany, the US, and beyond. His discography includes the EP Cucumber Green, and his debut album Trust the Process (2024) with the Filippo Ieraci Trio, featuring ten original compositions.
In 2021, Filippo was awarded the “Tomorrow’s Jazz” prize and has been a finalist in several prestigious jazz competitions including Premio Nazionale delle Arti and Premio Marco Tamburini. Passionate about creative education, he combines technical rigour with artistic freedom in his teaching, inspiring students to develop both their craft and musical voice.
