Born in Barcelona, Spain, Mariona is a cellist and singer based in London.

Mariona is an experienced cellist and singer having worked as a chamber and orchestra musician as well as played and sung in small opera productions. She regularly participates in cross-discipline contemporary music projects involving visuals, theater and electronics. She thrives in creative and collaborative musical environments.

Mariona studied cello in Reykjavik with Richard Talkowsky and became a member of the Icelandic Symphony Youth Orchestra leading the cello section for two years. Later on she moved to London to further her singing studies with Paul Farringdon and graduated with a BMUS as a mezzo soprano in Trinity College of Music under the guidance of Alison Wells.

Mariona has over ten years of instrumental teaching experience with students of all ages and backgrounds. Her teaching approach is tailored and dedicated to each individual. Mariona thrives in helping her students find their own musical identity guiding them through effective practice strategies that enhance their performance and aim to extract inner musicality.

Mariona specialises as an Early Years Music Practitioner (0-5 years old) delivering creative music lessons for families and their children. She began working for Music House for Children as an Early Years Music Practitioner under the guidance of Emma Hutchinson.
